K9 Murph was shot and killed by a man who had murdered Police Officer Kenneth Moody of the Houston, Texas, Police Department on November 26, 1969.
The suspect was released after serving only 11 years for Officer Moody's murder when a federal judge overturned his sentence.

I was always so impressed with His intelligence and gentle demeanor. Always loved being able to see him every week when we had scouts at the Araizas home thank you Murph for your sacrifice .
