K9 Rosco was shot and killed while chasing a robbery suspect on Colonial Boulevard in Fort Myers.

Officers had responded to a robbery at a local fast food restaurant at 2955 Colonial Boulevard. As the first units arrived one subject fled in a vehicle, striking and injuring a canine. The second subject fled on foot and then exchanged shots with responding officers, killing Rosco. The other officers returned fire and killed the juvenile offender.

Lord God of unfailing love, to those families of our beloved nation, the United States of America, who are suffering in the wake of the loss of a Law Enforcement K-9 family member, Shot and Killed in the Line-of-Duty, help us to provide support. Allow us to be their rock and fortress in a time of immense pain and uncertainty.
