K9 Jeg died of heat exhaustion after being left in a patrol car as his handler responded to a serious accident on I-19.
His handler was in the process of changing patrol cars at the Arizona Department of Public Safety Tucson office when he was dispatched on the emergency call. As he responded to the call he realized that Jeg had been left in the other patrol car and he immediately turned around and returned to the officer. Jeg was transported to emergency animal hospital where he had to be put down.
