K9 Solo was shot and killed while attempting to apprehend a barricaded subject at a home.
The subject had been barricaded inside the home for 22 hours. After other tactics failed to flush the man out, Solo was deployed to make an apprehension. When Solo entered the home he was shot and killed.
K9 Solo was a certified patrol dog and was credited with 16 apprehensions and locating 19 missing persons the prior year.
