K9 Ando drowned while searching for a subject who fled following a vehicle pursuit and foot pursuit.
Ando and his handler were searching a heavily wooded area when Ando became separated. His body was found the following morning in a nearby canal.
The subject was later apprehended and showed signs that he had been in a struggle with Ando. He was convicted of Ando's death.
