K9 Drago died when the air conditioner in his handler's vehicle failed.
His handler had gone to the Oak Forest Police Department to process an offender who had just been arrested. While the handler was inside the air conditioner failed and began blowing hot air. Rescue personnel rendered aid to Drago but were unable to save him.
Drago had served with the Forest Preserves of Cook County Department of Law Enforcement for three years.
