K9 Chili was killed when the patrol car he was riding in collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Willow Street.
He was rushed to Michigan State University Veterinary Clinic where he died from his injuries. His handler suffered minor injuries in the crash.
