K9 Dexter died as a result of inhaling toxins while searching for wildlife that had been killed by poachers at the Snake River near American Falls.
While searching, K9 Dexter suffered a medical emergency and died during transportation to a veterinary clinic.
K9 Dexter had served with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game for six years.
