Roark Herbert Ross

Trooper Roark Ross was killed in an automobile accident while he and his partner were responding to a hit-and-run accident in Venango County. During their response the vehicle skidded across the roadway and struck a tree. Trooper Ross was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Trooper Ross had been with the agency for 13 years and was survived by his wife and daughter.

I knew you well 53 years ago when we were students together at the University of Pittsburgh. Many years have passed and I wished I had stayed in touch with you. I just found out that you died serving your country; I sure wish we had spent more time together but that's the way life is, but I’ll always value the short time that I knew you. You were one hell of a nice individual, an inspiration and a friend. I can't think of a finer person and thank you for your friendship and your sacrifice. I will always remember you buddy...peace be with you and your family always.
