View all 25 ReflectionsMet George at A school right after boot camp then we went to San Diego for plane captain school, then we spent two long years on the USS Midway in Japan working on the flight deck, then back to San Diego for a few months, that's when he wanted to learn how to fly,I watch him the day he flew for the first time. He was always adventurous. Then we were back overseas on the Coral Sea for are last days in the Navy. We were planning to drive from San Diego to Miami in his MG Midget but I took a months leave at the end and got out early. I talked to him a couple of times after getting out but let him slip away. So sorry to hear what happened to him he was such a great guy. Happy 70th birthday
