James Andrew Seerey

First Sergeant James Seerey died after falling from his horse during a training exercise and mounted drill at Troop B Headquarters.

While performing a hurdle jump, the horse struck the hurdle, and Sergeant Seerey was thrown to the ground. He suffered a broken pelvis and succumbed to his injuries five days later.

Sergeant Seerey was a U.S. Army veteran of WWI and had served with the Pennsylvania State Police for almost 15 years. He was survived by his wife and three children.

On today, the 90th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army-especially during the Mexican Expedition and World War I. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
