Paul John Schafer

Patrolman Paul Schafer died of injuries he received eight days earlier when he was struck by a motorcycle on December 31, 1929.

While crossing 83rd Street on patrol, Patrolman Schafer was hit by the driver of a motorcycle. He was transported to Lenox Hill Hospital, where he died from his injuries on January 7, 1930.

Patrolman Schafer had served with the New York City Police Department for 24 years and was assigned to the 19th Precinct. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.
