Robert Taylor Walker

Chief Robert Walker was shot and killed while responding to a call. It was later determined that the call had been placed to lure him to the scene with the purpose of ambushing him.

The suspect was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. He was denied parole in March of 2011. He will be eligible for parole again in 2016.

Bob was like a father to me. I grew up with him with the boys scouts, fire dept, and with him on the Irvine police dept. I was first on the scene at the trailer park he was murdered . The whole story never came out. I was with him 40 minutes before he was ambushed and killed. I retired after 35 years on the job. Bob was a Lt Col. In The U.S. Army. He did not work for the money, he did not need it. He saw good in everyone. I honored his memory every day. I will never forget. I have had very few friends since bob. I hope the truth will come out about this planned ambush. It still pi---- me off.
