Patrolman Harry Widder was killed in a motorcycle crash while on patrol on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens.
His motorcycle jumped a curb and struck an oncoming car.
Patrolman Widder had served with the New York City Police Department for seven years and was assigned to the Grand Central Precinct (Present-day Highway 3). He was survived by his wife and daughter.
