Patrolman Howard Barrows succumbed to injuries sustained three days earlier in an automobile crash at the intersection of Springfield Boulevard and Merrick Road, in Queens.
He was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he remained until succumbing to his injuries on December 21, 1930.
Patrolman Barrows had served with the New York City Police Department for 17 years and was assigned to the 105th Precinct. He was survived by his wife and four children.
