Daniel Stanley MacClary

Police Officer Daniel MacClary was killed when his police motorcycle struck the passenger side of a vehicle.

He was attempting to stop a speeder when another vehicle turned in front of him during rush hour traffic. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges were filed against the driver who turned in front of him.

Officer MacClary was a U.S. Air Force veteran and had served with the Hendersonville Police Department for four years. He was survived by his expectant wife and 12-year-old daughter.

Police week 2021. I was only 8 years old when Danny was tragically taken from this world but I remember it like it was yesterday. I sit here as a LEO now and think of Danny, who worked with my dad. I remember the community coming together at a candlelight vigil for you Danny. You will never be forgotten.
