I drive I5, or what you would have called Hwy 99, past your memorial every month to my National Guard drill. You were a guardsman during WWI, and when I pass the site of your murder, I pause to reflect on a career of selfless sacrifice to others. From France to Oregon, you made others’ safety your priority. Rest in peace brother. We will maintain the watch for you.
