Officer Claude Beck was struck and killed by a camper while making a traffic stop in the 900 block of Southwest Freeway. As he approached the vehicle the camper struck him. The driver of the vehicle was charged with murder by automobile.
Officer Beck served with the Houston Police Department for four years and was survived by his wife.
