John Edward Clifford

Patrolman John Clifford succumbed to injuries sustained two weeks earlier when he was struck by a speeding car as he stepped off of a curb on Atlantic Avenue.

He was transported to a local hospital where he contracted pneumonia. The driver of the car that struck him pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and battery.

Patrolman Clifford had served with the McKeesport Police Department for three years. He was survived by his wife and child.
