Cleveland Olen Weathers

Sheriff "Cleve" Weathers was killed when he was stabbed five times in the chest by an inmate in the county jail in Lawrenceburg as he attempted to break up a fight.

The 18-year-old inmate was convicted of the murder and sentenced to 99 years in prison. He was paroled in 1973 and died in 1996.

Sheriff Weathers was serving his third term as sheriff when he was murdered. He was survived by his wife, parents, two sisters, and four brothers.
