Patrolman Henry Ruberg succumbed to injuries sustained two days earlier when the horse he was riding stumbled and fell. He had been detailed to strike duty at the Southern Railroad Terminal when the injury occurred.
Patrolman Ruberg had served with the Cincinnati Police Department for 29 years. He was survived by his wife and two sons.
