Marvin Jerome Scarlett

Deputy Marvin Scarlett was killed in an automobile accident on I-75, just north of Georgia Route 20, at approximately 5:00 am while en route to assist at the scene of an accident.

His patrol car collided with the back of a delivery truck that had stopped in the roadway due to the accident.

Deputy Scarlett had served with the Henry County Sheriff's Office for five years and had previously served with the Miami-Dade Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in Florida for 10 years. He is survived by his wife and four children.
