Charles Hill

Posseman Charles Hill was shot and killed in a gunfight with several escapees who had murdered Deputy Jack Williams during their escape nine days earlier.

The suspect who had killed Deputy Williams was also killed in the shootout with the posse. A second suspect was lynched by an angry mob and the third suspect escaped.
