Officer Terry Jablonski and Officer Raymond P. Rexer were shot and killed with a .22 caliber rifle while responding to a family disturbance call.

The suspect was apprehended and sentenced to life in prison.

Officer Jablonski had served with the Bay City Police Department for 23 years. He was survived by his two sons, Terry the second and Mike.

I never knew much about you. You never got to see me be brought into this world, grow up within this world, and become a man you would probably be proud of. Even without meeting you, the stories and details I have been told paint me a picture of an ideal man, someone I am proud of being related to and someone who was always willing to do what was right.

Your memory will last forever in not only my mind, but the minds of all those you have helped in the line of duty and beyond, and I know that, without a shadow of a doubt, you've become one of the brightest angels Heaven has ever seen.
