This is my great-grandfather, my middle name comes from him and his story has loomed over my entire life. My mother wore a pendant made from the metal in his badge.
His wife Addie Paulk died the following year and my grandfather at 19 had to take care of the family from there. When we were moving my grandmother into a nursing home, I found several items including a copy of the incident report and an old vest with small holes in it that may or may not have been the one he was wearing that day.

Thank you for maintaining this page for him. I am very proud of both my great-grandfather and the son he left behind.
