John Lewis Nye

Chief of Police John Nye was killed in a motorcycle crash while attempting to stop a traffic violator on Mifflin Avenue, Wilkinsburg.

He lost control of his motorcycle and struck a telegraph pole just outside of the Edgewood Borough border.

Chief Nye was survived by his wife.
