Most Recent Reflection
View all 199 ReflectionsHouston was always coming into the communications room with a smile. There wasn't a moment where he was impatient and was always willing to get the job done. I worked with him from for four years as a public safety dispatcher. Each officer has their own personality and unique qualities. He would be the first to ask if there were any pending calls in his area before he heads out. Working with police officers and other public safety, we maintain camaraderie. I left NPD in 2014 and a sergeant told me, "We are always your family." Another colleague called him "Houie", it fit him well. Every now and then, I think of Houston and I remember food, he would always ask if I made anything to eat. He was one of the best officers out there and he will always be remembered and cherished. I feel for his family and the loss they have been through, but also carry his spirit. Thank you to his parents for creating and raising such a wonderful human being.
