Detective Frank Flynn was killed in a vehicle crash in Indianapolis, Indiana, while he and three other railroad detectives were en route from Jersey City, New Jersey, to Chicago, Illinois, to attend meetings of the Brotherhood of Railway Policeman and the Railroad Wage Board.
He and the other detectives were attending the meeting to represent the Pennsylvania Railroad Police. Their vehicle was involved in a crash in front of 1850 Kentucky Avenue in Indianapolis and Detective Flynn suffered fatal injuries.
The detective who was driving the vehicle was charged with manslaughter.
Detective Flynn served as the national president of the Brotherhood of Railway Policemen. He was survived by his wife and son.
