Marshal Frank Colclough was shot and killed during the robbery of a saloon.
He was inside the saloon discussing the robbery of another nearby saloon with the owner when two masked men entered and announced a robbery. Marshal Colclough drew his weapon and exchanged shots with the two suspects. Despite being mortally wounded he was able to shoot and kill one of the suspects. The other suspect was arrested, convicted of murder, and sentenced to life.
