Deputy Sheriff David Braunholz was killed in a vehicle crash in the 4200 block of Ransom Road, southeast of Richmond, while responding to a suspicious vehicle call.
His patrol car left the roadway and struck a tree.
Deputy Braunholz was survived by his wife, son, parents, grandmother, sister, and two brothers.
