Patrolman Paul E. Gilmore

Thank you for your service. We have pictures of you on your motorcycle. You were my Step-Dad’s father. Your eldest son, Morris B. Gilmore lived to only 51 years, but was a proud Policeman for the City of Los Angeles, CA, LAPD for a number of years, nearly 20 before he was forced to retire with failing health partially and probably mostly caused by the 1300 days he spent as a Prisoner of War held by the Japanese. The terrible, inhumane treatment of so many of the prisoners of WWII survived, only to die early because of the ill treatment they received. He died far too young, and I want everyone to know how blessed I was to have him as my Step Father, more of a Father really, for so many years and become a grandfather to my daughter and a loving and cherished husband to my mother, also a Police Officer.
We are now searching for your Grandson, Michael Hugh Gilmore Smith.
