Edwin Francis Haas

Sergeant Edwin Haas accidentally shot and killed himself while attempting to dislodge a jammed cartridge from his .38 caliber service pistol at Troop B in Wyoming Borough, Pennsylvania.

The round discharged and struck him in the head, killing him.

Sergeant Haas was a U.S Navy veteran and had served with the Pennsylvania State Police for 14 years. He was survived by his wife and daughter.

On today, the 100th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Navy from 1906-1910 as a crewmember on the battleship USS Wisconsin(BB-9).
