Milan Dexter Hendrix

Trooper Milan Hendrix was killed in an automobile crash in Pensacola when his patrol car collided with a log truck exiting a paper mill on U.S. 29 at 10:00 p.m.

Trooper Hendrix had served with the Florida Highway Patrol for nine years. He was survived by his parents, brother, and sister.

In December 2019, Highway 29 was renamed Trooper Milan Hendrix Memorial Highway, from Nine Mile Road to Neal Road.

Today marks 36 years ago that we lost you Milan. I miss you today as much as I did the day you went to Heaven. I think about you often and all the good times we shared together. You weren't just a "family" friend. You were like an Uncle to me. I will never forget you Milan. They named a part of Highway 29 after you in 2019. I know you would be proud. Rest Easy Milan. Thank You for your service and your sacrifice.
