Deputy Henke was struck and killed by a driver who fled from the scene while manning a road block near the Daniel Boone Bridge. The 30-year-old suspect was arrested and later convicted of manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident. The jury recommended a 4 year prison sentence, but his actual punishment is unknown.

I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
