Officer Hubbard was killed when her patrol car was struck at 2:20 a.m. in front of 2402 Canton Street by a vehicle being chased following a robbery attempt.

Officer Hubbard was assisting the units when the patrol car was broadsided by the vehicle, which was driving at an estimated 90 mph. Officer Hubbard was killed at the scene, and her partner was injured. Both suspects were arrested at the scene, convicted, and sentenced to life.

Officer Hubbard had served with the Detroit Police Department for 11 years. She is survived by her two children.
