Officer Patrick Hunt was killed when his motorcycle was struck head-on by an automobile while escorting a funeral procession.

He had left the procession to reprimand a driver and when he was returning to his place in the escort his motorcycle was struck.

Officer Hunt had served with the Beaumont Police Department two years. He was survived by his wife and parents.
