Patrolman Charles Lawrence succumbed to injuries sustained the previous day when he fell from a ladder while assisting with rescue efforts during a structure fire on Broad Street.

He slipped off of the ladder and fell 25 feet to his death.

Patrolman Lawrence was survived by his wife.
