Patrolman Jerry LeBloch was shot and killed in the line of duty.

The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to death which was later reduced. In December 1999, he died after being released from prison.

Patrolman LeBloch served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and had served with the Stickney Police Department for five years.

On today, the 75th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army Air Forces as a bomber crewman during World War II. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
