Deputy Sheriff Lynn Lewis was killed in an automobile crash on the San Bernardino Freeway, near Lark Ellen Avenue, while returning from a police conference.
His patrol car went out of control on the freeway and struck a directional standard.
Deputy Lewis had served with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for six years. He was survived by his wife and two children.
