Trooper Robert McGuire was killed in a head-on collision with a drunk driver who was driving on the wrong side of a divided highway south of Las Vegas. Trooper McGuire was responding to an emergency call at the time the collision occurred.

The 41-year-old subject was charged with involuntary manslaughter and other traffic charges. He was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to three months in jail.
