Sergeant Teddy Moos succumbed to injuries sustained one month earlier when he was struck by a vehicle on I-295 in Bellmawr.

Around 12:45 a.m., Sergeant Moos was assisting another trooper at the scene of a vehicle crash northbound on Highway 42, near mile marker 14. He was directing traffic around the crash scene when he was struck. He was transported to Cooper Hospital- University Medical Center in Camden. He passed away on February 27, 1987.

The driver was also injured, and initial reports stated that he was driving while intoxicated. No details have been discovered about whether the man was charged.

Sergeant Moos had served with the New Jersey State Police for almost 16 years. He was survived by his wife, son, and two daughters.
