Reflections for Police Officer Edward Spindler

On behalf of Acting United States Attorney Richard Frohling, Assistant U.S. Attorneys, and support staff for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, we honor law enforcement officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. During National Police Week, the focus is even greater that we never forget the officers and their families.

This year, we recognized the service of Police Officer Edward Spindler. Rest in peace. You will never be forgotten.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 94th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

In recent years, the law enforcement community has been devastated by incidents of multiple officers being killed, but I had not known of this horrific bomb incident when a epartment lost so many in ine incident. How awful it must have been for the entire community.

Rest In Peace
