Reflections for Sheriff-elect Derwin Brown
I was fortunate enough to have Derwin Brown as my academy instructor in 1987. I joined the Dekalb Co. police department a little nieve. Derwin was more than a training officer he was my mentor. He as a great cop and most importantly a great man.

It is a shame that Sheriff Brown had to die at a cowards hands, but he will be remembered as a hero to me and my family, for the work he was called to do. God Bless you all.

I have followed this case since the beginning and I was glad to see that arrests were made. I feel for Sheriff Brown's family. He died for something that he believed in and died for the very reason he wanted to be elected, to get rid of the bad apples that somehow get into this line of work. God bless you sir!
