Reflections for Police Officer Bryan Scott Hurst
Officer Hurst, I came across your story of heroism as I was checking on my friend who recently made the ultimate sacrifice in Toledo. I want you to know that you are being thought of throughout this country. Your actions were heroic, your presence and will to fight, at that bank undoubtably saved lives. You lived up to your sworn oath and you are an inspiration to us all.
As a born and raised "Ohioian" I am a true OSU fan as are you. I have to let you know the Illinois loss hurt but we let the Wolverines know who's boss! On our way to Pasadena!
To your family, your husband, father, son, and friend will be with you always and he will continue to look out for you from above. Officer Hurst will you tell my friend Officer Keith Dressel that we are thinking about him down here and you can tease him about the OSU victory over Michigan.
May God watch over your family and the members of the Columbus Police Department.

Please keep me safe liek you did January 6. In the past week we have had two major bank robberies within a mile from my bank. Days like this I want to quit and give up. But, then I think of how you did not give up. He should not have to destroy my career. He has changed so many lifes and I should not give him the victory of changing my life. Please help me get through this and not be afraid. Always and forever my number one hero.

Bryan,
I know you are laughing in heaven when you hear Malia say "Go Bucks; Michigan sucks." She also gives a great cheer with OH - IO. She proudly recites the Pledge to our flag without missing a word. Please know that I continue to honor your memory and the tremendous sacrifice you made. Continue to watch over all of us.
Love,

Devil Dog,
I posted your ODMP Profile on the patrol board here at MCB Quantico PMO for all military police Marines to see. Also passed your story to other young Marines to give them an example of what a Warrior is. Semper Fi.

On September 11, 2001 72 Law Enforcement Officers were killed by an act of terrorism. On January 6, 2005 a thug terrorized your bank and you defended it, saving many lives at the expense of yours. I think about you every day but many more tears are shed for you on this day of rememberence. GOD Bless.

Bryan,
I want you to know that you are not forgotten. Every day when I wake up I put a memorial band on my wrist to remember what you gave up so others may live. I ask that you watch over all of us who are trying to become a police officer and those who already are. I know it can be dirty work but someone has to do it. Thanks again. and God Speed!

Bryan,
Unfortunately, Donnie and I had to break our tradition Saturday. But, it didnt keep me from toasting one in your honor. I did however, have one with your brother. Regardless, we won and amazingly Michigan lost. We all miss you and hopefully I'll see you on the 8th.
Rest in peace brother, we'll get it from here.

Hi Bryan
There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about you or remember what you did for us that day.
I read your reflections everyday and it amazes me the people that didn't even know you, but still love you.
You were(are)an amazing man and I am so proud to tell people that I was your friend.
I read a reflection from someone that recently opened an account at 5/3 and he wrote that your picture is proudly displayed in the lobby of Canyon Center. Your picture was put there for that very reason, so that everyone that walked thru that door would know what you did (the sacrifice that you made) that day.
Patrolman E. Davidson from Whitehall PD recently wrote in a reflection stating that he really didn't know you but wished that he did.
I left 5/3 for reasons that you know and I now work in White hall ( Kemba Credit Union ) and I would love to tell Davidson and everyone else that wants to know you, what a good (amazing) man you were.
THANK YOU for your service to this country, to the citizens of Columbus,Ohio and especially to the employees of 5/3 Bank Canyon Center. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here to write this.
Always thinking of you
Love Angie

Never got to know you, although I feel like I do. I've heard so many stories from your friends. It seems like yeterday that I heard the news. I was standing in a long line, getting really irritated...minding my own grumpy business. Then it came. A report came across the TV and stopped me in my tracks. In a daze, I walked towards the TV in daze. A few days after that, I was standing in attention at your funeral. Although I was in uniform and in formation, saluting you....several tears rolled down my face. RIP Officer Bryan Hurst CPD #2057
