Reflections for Private First Class Joel Dansby

Having served in the 21st MP Co from 1972 to 1975, I have never forgotten Joel or Jimmy Boyd. What I remember most about Joel is he was the sharpest and most dedicated MP in the 21st and the 503d. He took extreme pride in his Military Police service. Always the starched, creased fatigues, shiniest brass, and the best polished boots and leather MP gear. I could spend hours on my MP uniform and not come close to matching Joel - He was always the most "STRAC" in role call before hitting the streets of Ft Bragg. He was a gung-ho Military Policeman who took pride in his work and I'm sure would have continued his incredible policework after his military service. I never have nor never will forget you Joel. You are a true American Hero.

Our appreciation to those who have left reflections of Joel after all these years. He was a fine young man and a great son. He is sadly missed by his parents and his sisters and the many nieces and nephews he was never able to meet.
You are always in my heart - Mom

Joel, I will never forget you. I sometimes think of the good times we all had. Then we lost you and Jimmy Boyd. I wonder what you both would have done with the rest of your lives. Rest in peace buddy.
