Reflections for Police Officer Joshua T. Miktarian
One lost officer is too many. One lost husband, a lost father,
a son, brother, a friend, a lost link in the thin blue line. I am
so sad every time I read another Officer is lost. I desperately want to find words that bring comfort, words of
substance so those who have lost so much can anchor to the
thoughts. But there are no words adequate enough. It goes without saying that all who loved him will always remember him. It goes without saying that the life's work he chose
was difficult and did ultimately require far too much from
him.
I hope and pray that some good will come from this tragedy.
That triumph will be revealed to those closest to him. For
tragedy without triumph is somehow more painful. Officer
Miktarian may you rest in peace, play your music and smile
down on your friends and family who will need signs from
you that all will be well.

Holly, Thea, and the Miktarian Family,
Words can not express the heartfelt sympathy in wake of this tragic event. Josh was truly passionate for everything he did. I went to high school with Josh and had the honor of calling him a friend. Josh put 100% in EVERYTHING he did. He had a heart of gold and a great sense of humor to boot. Josh came out to visit me about 8 years ago in San Diego. He was interested in moving his law enforcement career "out west". We traded stories about our experiences in high school and the great times we had. In the end, Josh later told me he didn't want to make the move, because it would be too hard to leave behind his family and friends. Josh was such a gifted person and a good friend. God Bless you brother!!!

Josh, You were a devoted family man and a proud, proud new papa. We will make sure Thea never forgets her daddy. We have tons of pictures and video where she will relive the way you and Holly welcomed her into this world. How sweet will be the memories Holly has of you and will share with your baby girl. Be assured we will miss you and look forward to that day when we meet again. We know you didn't want to go and we know you hate to see us grieving, but we also know you are in heaven .... and your race is over. You won, Buddy
