Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Ralph Floyd Peckham
'Uncle Ralph', You were actually my father's(Gordon) uncle...
I remember as a teenager when my Dad told me about you and what had happened to you... I recently laid my father's remains in the family plot next to yours, and your brother's(my grandfather Floyd) in North Pownal Vermont...
Rest in Peace Uncle Ralph.. You are not forgotten...

There are moments in this profession that test the very core of who we are, the moments that shake us, humble us, and remind us of the true weight of the badge we wear. The loss of a life, whether it be a fellow deputy, officer, trooper, or someone involved in a critical incident, is one of the most sobering experiences we face. Deputy Peckham sacrificed his life protecting the citizens of Bennington County. Thank you for your service.
