Reflections for Corporal Matthew Tyler "Ty" Snook
Corporal Snook,
Not sure where to begin. I didn’t know you, though I’m sure we crossed paths once or twice during your early years and my last few years on the job. But I certainly do remember your name and remember reading reports you had taken as a first responder. This is a sickening and gut wrenching feeling that unfortunately I had experienced several times throughout my career, and it is every bit as nauseating as a retiree as it was as an active sworn member of the division.
As a somewhat frequent visitor of the ODMP site, I’ve left countless reflections for numerous officers countrywide over the years and it’s just never easy doing so. But it’s especially difficult when it’s an officer from your home state and from the department you worked for so many years. I don’t know that I have the words right now to properly convey how sad I am and how I hurt for every member of not only the Delaware State Police, but the entire Delaware Law Enforcement community, both active and retired. But I assure you I will revisit you time and time again and as I have always said to the brave men and women who I visit here, you will NEVER, EVER be forgotten.
God Speed, God Bless your family and know that they are our family now as well and will never be forgotten.

My heart is broken and empty over this tragic loss. Corporal Snook accepted the call to stand between us all and danger. I am Eternally Grateful. Lord surround His Wife and daughter with all Your love in these days to come and comfort His Family, Fellow Officers, and Friends as they need You. He walked a Blue Line that is very Thin. God Bless All that walk that Line.
