Reflections for Master Police Officer Donald Richard Gotthardt, Jr.

I never may have known you sir, but what you did out there on September 11, 2001 was a tremendous act of loyalty and duty to this country. I respect and will keep your family in my prayers. God bless your soul sir.

God of Justice, I am grateful for the lives and sacrifices of all America’s Peace Officers. They died serving us. Help us never forget. Help us celebrate their lives and honor their sacrifices. Be with the families, friends, and comrades of these fallen peace officers. Comfort them and give them Your strength and peace. Guide us as we seek to take care of the families of these fallen heroes. May we care for them with integrity. In commemorating the deaths of these fallen heroes, help us also to remember that death is not the end. Death does not have the final say but is simply the transition from this earthly life to the heavenly life yet to come. This assurance was guaranteed to all believers upon the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. We look forward to that life to come with joy and anticipation. Thank You, Lord God, for hearing this prayer. In the mighty and holy name of the Lord Christ Jesus, and by His Power, His Authority, and His Sacrificial Blood, I believe and pray for America’s Fallen Peace Officers and all those left behind. Amen.

God’s Mission for Law Enforcement:

Lord God, we know from Romans 13:1-5 (TLB) that Law Enforcement Officers have a sacred task, to enforce laws that protect the innocent and punish the guilty. We pray that You will protect them as they serve us. Give them wisdom, discernment, and a deep desire to serve You. Please surround every law enforcement officer in our land, the United States of America, with battalions of warring angels, under the command of Saint Michael the Archangel, to protect them from harm and defend them from evil.

Please find Encouragement, Comfort, Support, and Hope from the following Scripture Verses found in “The Law Enforcement Officer’s Christian Standard Bible”:

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord asking: Who will I send? Who will go for us? I said: Here I am. Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)

[Jesus taught]: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons [children] of God.” (Matthew 5:9)

[Jesus taught]: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4)

[Jesus taught]: “No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13)

“Even when I go through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and your staff - they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)

“Jesus said to her [Martha], “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me, even if he dies, will live.” (John 11:25)

“And he [Jesus] said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43)

“Hate evil and love good; establish justice at the city gate.” (Amos 5:15a)

“For he [God] will give his angels [Michael the Archangel and his warring angels] orders concerning you, to protect you in all your ways.” (Psalm 91:11)

In the Book of Revelation 12:7-9, we learn about Saint Michael the Archangel's famous battle against evil. This epic fight in heaven shows Michael the Archangel and his warring angels battling the dragon, Satan, and his fallen angels. They won, forcing Satan and his fallen angels out of heaven. This victory makes Michael the Archangel a strong protector against darkness. He is a great role model for law enforcement. He is the Patron Saint of Law Enforcement. Like Michael the Archangel, Law Enforcement Officers fight against evil, keeping communities safe and upholding justice.
