Dustin Pedigo

Correctional Officer Justin Pedigo was stabbed and killed by an inmate at the Morgan County Correctional Complex at 541 Wayne Cotton Morgan Drive in Wartburg.

The suspect was serving a sentence for aggravated assault and attempted voluntary manslaughter. He has been moved to another facility.

Officer Pedigo had served with the Tennessee Department of Correction for 10 months. Survivors include his wife, parents, brother, and sister.

On behalf of Point 27, we would like to offer condolences for Correctional Officer Dustin Pedigo. Please know we are eternally grateful for Dustin’s service and his ultimate sacrifice.

To honor Correctional Officer Dustin Pedigo, Point 27 sent Thin Gray Line Dog Tag Necklaces, engraved with “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you: he will never leave you nor forsake you” Deuteronomy 31:6, to the Tennessee Department of Correction in Nashville, Tennessee for Dustin’s partner and fellow officers. Point 27 also sent Folded Flag Necklaces engraved with “Greater Love has no one than this; than to lay down one’s life for one’s friend” John 15:13 for Correctional Officer Dustin Pedigo’s family.

Point 27 is a Non-Profit organization with a mission to strengthen and encourage members of the Armed Forces, First Responders, and their families, with God’s Word inscribed on Shields of Strength jewelry.
